About Me

A very scary imageMy name is Alastair Lynn, I am an 18-year-old first-year undergraduate at the University of Southampton, and a maker of games. I started programming in AppleScript when I was 10 and since then have gone on to learn many languages including PHP, C++, C, Python, Objective-C, Java, GLSL, HTML, JavaScript, CSS and various incarnations of assembly including PowerPC, x86/x86-64 and LLVM. My particular interests in computing are games (of course), and also real-time 3D graphics, compilers, operating systems, and distributed computing. My CV is available.

I work for a quasi-company called Hovercat Software, where I work on a game called Xenos under the watchful gaze of the slightly evil Nick Farley.

As well as being a general computer geek, I am a musician (I play the bassoon, bass guitar, melodica, double bass, and when the occasion calls for it I can also play keyboards, drumkit and/or the vibraphone). I also sail dinghies in the Solent when I have the chance. I am also a member of the Liberal Democrat party.
